Property for Sale in Cermignano, Abruzzo
Cermignano is a small hill village in the Province of Teramo, in the green hills between the Vomano valley and the foothills of the Gran Sasso. It is a quiet farming community, surrounded by olive groves, oak woods and small vineyards, with mountain views to the west.
The Village and Nearby Towns
The village is made up of a historic core of old houses and narrow lanes, with newer homes along the roads leading out of it, and scattered hamlets and farmhouses in the countryside around. Life here follows a rural rhythm, with village festivals in summer.
Cellino Attanasio sits on the next ridge towards the sea, and Bisenti and Arsita lie to the south, closer to the mountains.
Property for Sale in Cermignano
The listings are small village houses and town houses, along with a larger rural property, and prices are among the lowest in the area: most cost under €50,000, and the larger home is still below €150,000. Many have two or three bedrooms and some will need updating.
Everyday Life and Getting There
Cermignano has a few local shops and bars, and residents drive to the Vomano valley towns or to Teramo for supermarkets, hospitals and offices. The Adriatic beaches and the slopes of the Gran Sasso are both within reach for days out.
The A24 motorway to Rome passes close by, and the A14 runs along the coast. Abruzzo airport at Pescara is the nearest. Public transport is limited, so plan on having a car.
Buying in Cermignano
Low-priced village houses often need a new roof, damp treatment, wiring or plumbing, so cost the renovation before agreeing a price. Older homes may be owned by several heirs, and every one of them has to sign. As in the rest of central Abruzzo, earthquakes are a real risk, so take advice on the building’s structure. A geometra working locally can check that the house corresponds to its cadastral registration and that any extensions were authorised.
