Property for Sale in Lenno, Lombardy
Lenno is a lakeside village on the western shore of Lake Como, in the Province of Como. Once a comune of its own, it now belongs to Tremezzina, formed by the union of several villages along this sheltered bay facing Bellagio and the central lake.
The Village and the Shore
Lenno has a lakefront promenade, a small beach and a pier for the ferries, with the parish church and its Romanesque baptistery close to the water. On the wooded Lavedo headland at the edge of the village stands Villa del Balbianello, one of the most famous villas on the lake, reached on foot or by boat. Above the shore, olive terraces and hamlets climb towards the mountains, and the Abbey of Acquafredda overlooks the bay.
Just south lies Isola Comacina, the lake’s only island. To the north are Tremezzo and then Menaggio, while Como is reached along the shore road to the south.
Property for Sale in Lenno
The listings are a mix of villas and apartments, including a terrace apartment with lake views. This is an expensive part of the lake: all of the homes here are priced above €1 million, and the most exclusive villa approaches €3 million.
Everyday Life and Getting There
The village has bars, restaurants, a few shops and a supermarket, and the wider Tremezzina area covers most daily needs. Ferries and hydrofoils link Lenno with Bellagio, Menaggio and Como. The nearest railway stations are at Como and, across the water, Varenna, and Milan’s airports and Lugano are all within reach.
Buying in Lenno
Parking is often limited near the lake, so a garage or private space adds real value. Ask about damp in lower floors close to the shore and about any boat moorings, which normally depend on a public concession.
The landscape around the bay is protected, which affects extensions and pools. Have a geometra check the cadastral entries and planning permits for the property so that the deed describes exactly what you are buying.
