Property for Sale in Recco, Liguria
Recco is a seaside town on the Golfo Paradiso, east of Genoa in the Province of Genoa. Famous across Italy for its cheese focaccia, it is a lived-in town rather than a resort, with villas on the green slopes above the sea.
The Town and Its Surroundings
Recco was heavily bombed in the Second World War because of its railway viaduct, so most of the centre was rebuilt in the following decades. Today it has a seafront promenade, a pebble beach and a small harbour, with the hills behind rising steeply towards the villages of the hinterland. The fishing village of Camogli is just to the east, and the Portofino promontory beyond it.
Genoa is close enough for work or a day out, while Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino are reached by road or boat on the other side of the promontory.

The homes listed are mainly villas, several with sea views and gardens, along with a large apartment. Prices are high, typically around €3 million, in line with the rest of this stretch of the Riviera.
Everyday Life and Getting There
Recco has supermarkets, schools, restaurants and services for year-round living. Its station is on the coastal railway between Genoa and La Spezia, and the A12 motorway has an exit at Recco. Genoa airport is the nearest, with Milan and Pisa as alternatives.
Buying in Recco
Hillside villas can be reached by narrow roads or steps, so check access and parking carefully. Steep Ligurian slopes are prone to landslips, so inspect retaining walls and drainage, and ask about the flood risk near the streams that reach the sea. Coastal landscape rules restrict extensions. Before you sign, a geometra should compare the property with its land registry records and confirm that alterations were properly authorised.
