Property for Sale in Santa Teresa Gallura, Sardinia
Santa Teresa Gallura is the northernmost town in Sardinia, in the Province of Olbia-Tempio, looking across the Strait of Bonifacio to the cliffs of Corsica. It is a lively summer resort with a year-round town at its heart.
The Town and the Coast
The town was laid out on a regular grid in the early nineteenth century around a central square, with the sixteenth-century Torre di Longonsardo guarding the entrance to the harbour. Below it, the Rena Bianca beach has white sand and clear water within walking distance of the centre.
West of the town lie the bay of Santa Reparata and the granite headland of Capo Testa, while the coast to the east runs towards Palau and the Costa Smeralda resorts around Porto Cervo.

Villas make up most of the listings, alongside a detached seafront house and an apartment. Prices are high: homes here generally start above €1 million and the best villas approach €2 million.
Everyday Life and Getting There
Santa Teresa has supermarkets, restaurants, a medical centre and a busy marina, and it keeps a resident population outside the summer season, unlike some of the purely holiday areas nearby.
The harbour has regular ferries to Bonifacio in Corsica. Olbia Costa Smeralda airport is the main gateway, reached by the road east through Palau and Arzachena. Alghero airport is a second option.
Buying in Santa Teresa Gallura
Coastal building in Sardinia is subject to strict landscape rules, which limit extensions and new construction near the sea. Before you sign, have a geometra who works in Gallura confirm the planning permits, any amnesty applications and the cadastral plans for the villa and its outbuildings.
Check the condition of pools, irrigation and septic tanks, and remember that wind and salt take a toll on exposed houses.
