Apartment in Castellaneta, Puglia

Rising from the limestone crest of Castellaneta where the Ionian light bleaches the facades to a soft bone-white, this retreat offers a slow reprieve within its sixty-five square meters. The single bedroom and versatile mezzanine are defined by quiet proportions and high, vaulted geometries that hold the afternoon heat at bay. Here, the ritual begins on the balcony, breaking crisp taralli as the scent of wild fennel drifts upward from the ravine. It is a residence for those seeking the stillness of the hill, mere minutes from the shifting sands of the Gulf.
