A privileged position in the historic centre
The property enjoys a particularly evocative setting. The old town
is entered through the historic Porta San Francesco and, after just a short
walk through the streets of the centre, you reach the imposing original
entrance door of the palazzo.
Penne offers all the main everyday services within easy walking
distance and is an ideal location for those who wish to experience authentic
Abruzzo without giving up the convenience of town living.
The Adriatic coast is approximately 30 minutes away, while the
mountain and ski areas can be reached in around 50 minutes. The surrounding
countryside also offers a wide variety of walking, hiking and cycling routes
through hills, olive groves and mountain landscapes.
The historic entrance
Beyond the ancient entrance door, the property opens into a spacious
hallway distinguished by attractive vaulted ceilings.
A wide and comfortable staircase leads to the first floor, where the
main residence is located.
At entrance level there are also two particularly interesting
spaces: a laundry room and an ancient grotto, probably once used as a snow
cellar, where snow collected during the winter was stored in order to keep food
and interiors cool during the summer months.
It is a fascinating detail that recalls the history and everyday
life of the building in centuries past.
The residence
The first floor reveals a bright, welcoming home that is ready to be
lived in immediately.
The living area includes a large and functional eat-in kitchen
overlooking one of the characteristic streets of the historic centre. Within
the kitchen there is a small utility room housing the boiler, as well as a
practical pantry.
From the kitchen, you enter the dining room and then the elegant
living room, both generous and harmonious spaces enhanced by warm parquet
flooring.
Despite being located in the heart of the old town, the house is
surprisingly bright and benefits from a particularly favourable exposure.
The panoramic terrace
The true highlight of the property is its beautiful panoramic
terrace, directly accessible from the living area.
This is a special outdoor space to enjoy for much of the year,
perfect for al fresco dining, relaxing or simply taking in the surrounding
landscape.
From here, the view opens across the mountains of Abruzzo, with an
exceptional outlook towards the Gran Sasso d’Italia range and the Maiella.
Its exposure makes this part of the property especially sunny and
provides a panorama that is quite unexpected for a home located in the very
heart of a historic town centre.
The sleeping area
The sleeping area comprises two bedrooms, including a spacious
double bedroom with panoramic mountain views, together with two bathrooms.
The interiors have been carefully renovated, preserving the
character of the historic residence while providing the comfort and
practicality required for modern everyday living.
A property ready to enjoy
Thanks to the recent renovation, the property is ready for immediate
use, with no further work required.
This is a distinctive residence combining history, panoramic views,
natural light and the convenience of having services close at hand.
It is an excellent choice as a permanent home for those wishing to
live year-round in the historic centre of Penne, but it would also make a
prestigious holiday home or a property suitable for hospitality use, thanks to
the character of the building, its location and its convenient access to both
the Adriatic coast and the mountains.
A home that preserves the charm of centuries of history and, from
its terrace, reveals one of Abruzzo’s most beautiful landscapes.
